Overview and Responsibilities
This position leads the team that provides strategic counsel and legal services to the worldwide marketing operations of Paramount Pictures across all lines of business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising on a range of marketing activities, preferably in the entertainment industry.
• Manage the legal needs of marketing business partners worldwide across a variety of marketing divisions, including creative advertising, media buying, market research and analytics, digital and field marketing, partnerships, and publicity.
• Advise on complex marketing legal transactions and issues and provides legal and business risk analysis to senior executives. Drafts and negotiates legal transactions and supervises the work of attorneys and legal professionals in Los Angeles, London and Paris.
• Proactively monitor legal and other developments impacting marketing activities (e.g., privacy laws, influencer marketing, new platforms). Develop and implement company-wide policies and provide continuing education and training to business and legal teams on current and developing legal topics.
• Coordinate with the Intellectual Property Group on the clearance of marketing materials crafted for theatrical, home entertainment, streaming, television and other content.
• Cultivate relationships with local offices in international territories and implement standard methodologies to reduce legal risks involved with localized marketing materials, promotions and events.
• Collaborate with legal colleagues across other Paramount divisions and departments.
Basic Qualifications
• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 10 years of transferable legal experience, preferably a combination of law firm and in-house in the entertainment industry with a focus on intellectual property, film/television production, and/or marketing law. International and/or digital marketing experience a plus.
• Member of the California State Bar or able to qualify as Registered In-House Counsel

• Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently and meet deadlines for tasks/assignments.
