We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Contract Accounting for our Statement Preparation team! This role is a key member of the Finance group’s Participations & Residuals group at Paramount Pictures. The Participations team ensures that the partners who collaborate with Paramount to create content are paid accurately. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing participation statements to outside participants of all filmed products as required by the provisions of the agreements/contracts with these outside parties.
Responsibilities
to include, but not limited to:
• Prepare financial statements to outside participants in adherence to their respective contractual agreements.
• Monitor the frequency and due dates of participation statements to properly prepare, complete, and submit statements for approval.
• Review notes from management to ensure contractual compliance and resolve problems.
• Review the propriety and reasonableness of financial activity shown in the participation system as well as other reports and investigate unusual activity, if any.
• Coordinate with management as to the proper disposition of unusual financial activity identified and analyze and handle corrections or adjustments, if necessary.
• Ensure that financial activity used in the statement is reported properly and that the share payable is calculated accurately in compliance with the reporting terms as summarized in the Contract Brief and/or as provided for in the respective agreements.
• Review statement packages to verify the accuracy of addresses and other relevant information used in the transmittals and payment requisitions before submission for approval.
• Perform administrative tasks to support director, including creating manual statement packages, running SAP reports, and saving backup files. Perform special projects, ad-hoc analysis, and research as needed.
• Assist director in answering questions from outside participants as well as liaise with internal groups to resolve issues or retrieve information.
Basic qualifications:
• 4 year(s) in experience Finance or Accounting (Preferably Contract Accounting/ Participations)
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
• SAP and or PARIS experience a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with MS Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and be flexible to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
