Full Time Job
We are looking for a Financial Analyst who will play a key role in the corporate controllership area including preparing and parking journals, reporting, analysis, and related tasks. In addition, this position will be an integral part of preparing the support to consolidate and report to ViacomCBS!
Responsibilities:
• Performs day to day inter-company accounting and reporting tasks. Prepares journal entries to reflect activity between Paramount business units and ViacomCBS corporate, reconciles and confirms balances with intercompany partners, and provides reports to Paramount corporate planning, overhead, and capital budgeting groups.
• Provides support for banking transaction process, reconciles outstanding check lists, and clears corporate lockbox receipts and other unapplied cash. Investigates and follows up on suspense and other open items.
• Reconciles corporate balance sheet accounts
• Analyzes key corporate earnings accounts
• Performs accounting and record-keeping functions, including insurance allocations, legal fee accruals, as well as other recurring entries
• Prepares corporate reporting deliverables
• Monitors and clears suspense, clearing, and conversion accounts, ensuring they net to zero
• Prepares corporate journal entries and ensures all have been approved, posted, and have appropriate supporting documentation
• Performs other ad hoc tasks and participates in special projects as assigned
Basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, in Finance or Accounting preferred
• 1 years accounting experience with knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Additional qualifications:
• SAP General Ledger experience preferred
• Previous experience with Hyperion systems preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the soft personal skills needed to collect accurate information from a wide network of people in a timely manner
• Must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently
• Proven ability to perform detailed research and to provide solution driven results
