Director of Global Communications – Paramount Pictures
Job Description:
The Director of Global Communications at Paramount Pictures will develop and implement communication strategies that span across divisions including marketing, production, distribution, and franchise management. This role will report to the Executive Director of Global Communications and is primarily responsible for managing media relations, executive communications, and film-specific news, while collaborating with senior executives and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain relationships with trade and entertainment press, respond to inquiries, and manage approval processes with executives and filmmakers.
• Work with senior leadership to ensure company goals and accomplishments are reflected in key messaging and announcements.
• Handle day-to-day inquiries from trade reporters regarding studio projects, box office reports, and transactional announcements.
• Proactively seek opportunities to highlight key executives and studio initiatives.
• Draft media materials such as fact sheets, talking points, and memos.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify marketable stories and opportunities for executive speaking engagements.
• Oversee the editorial calendar, special issue lists, and secure story placements.
• Work closely with the Corporate Social Responsibility team on studio-wide initiatives.
• Manage communications for corporate events, town halls, film premieres, and industry events like CinemaCon.
• Track media coverage and follow industry trends.
• Staff events and manage executives at red carpet events, premieres, and awards ceremonies.
• Travel as needed and support events.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: 8+ years in TV/Film PR, Publicity, Corporate Communications (agency, studio, or network experience)
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Additional Skills: Strong writer, strategic thinker, resourceful problem-solver, and media relationship builder
• Soft Skills: Excellent judgment in media positioning, organizational abilities, and flexibility for working events
Compensation:
The salary for this role ranges from $124,000 to $155,000 with eligibility for bonuses and additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO.
