The Role:
We're looking for a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team at Panalux!
As an Electrical Technician, you'll be a vital part of our Operations Department, ensuring our equipment is expertly maintained and fully functional for our clients' productions. You'll work closely with the Technical Manager, bringing your expertise to every task.
What you'll do:
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions in all Panalux gear and equipment.
• Identify root causes and recommend solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance to keep our electrical equipment in top condition and rental-ready.
• Install, configure, and test electrical systems and equipment for both internal and client use.
• Conduct testing and calibration to verify the functionality and accuracy of electrical tools.
• Adjust and fine-tune devices to meet performance specifications.
• Provide technical support to clients alongside our Rentals Team, ensuring successful productions.
• Assist Electronic and Mechanical Technicians with troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and system configurations.
• Update technical manuals and schematics when modifications are made.
• Ensure all work complies with Company policies, electrical standards, and industry expectations.
• Guarantee that all gear and equipment are electrically and mechanically safe for end-users.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
What we're looking for:
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards and industry best practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Excellent manual dexterity for handling intricate equipment.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to meticulous organization.
• Ability to work 8 hours per day during company office hours, with potential for after-hours, overtime, and on-call work during peak periods.
• Flexibility for infrequent travel between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
• Comfort working in environments that may require navigation of large spaces, significant time spent on foot, and exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and high voltages (with appropriate safety measures).
