Job Summary:
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. Under the guidance of senior accounting staff, you will assist in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This entry-level position offers an opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in maintaining financial records: Input and update financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets accurately and timely.
2. Accounts payable/receivable management: Process invoices, payments, and receipts. Assist in reconciling accounts payable and receivable statements.
3. General ledger maintenance: Help maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Assist in preparing journal entries as necessary.
4. Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures: Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
5. Bank reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
6. Assist with audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by gathering requested documentation and preparing audit schedules.
7. Expense tracking and reporting: Monitor and record business expenses. Assist in generating expense reports for management review.
8. Assist with budgeting and forecasting: Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering relevant financial information.
9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
10. Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with colleagues in finance, as well as other departments, to provide support and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
5. Good organizational and time management skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
9. Prior internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
10. Willingness to learn and grow in the field of accounting.
