The Indiana Fever is looking for an Athletic Performance Coach who will bring a progressive approach with deep knowledge of athletic performance and the game of basketball. They will demonstrate impact as an innovative practitioner developing and implementing comprehensive individualized strength & conditioning programming and managing the integration of key technologies on and off the court for the Indiana Fever. In collaboration with other members of the team, they will play an important role in assessing, profiling, programming, and monitoring player movement and performance needs. They are built to thrive in an elite high-performance environment, current in their knowledge of research, technologies, best practices, and application strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under the direction of the head coach and medical staff, assist in all aspects of athletic development for the Indiana Fever
• Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing periodized strength and conditioning programs for athletes in a team-based environment
• Logging of all relevant data on to the club's online data management system
• Create testing protocols for athlete profiling, tracking and return to play
• Maintain weight room cleanliness and equipment upkeep
• Provide input on weight room organization and layout
• Provide a high quality, professional and thorough service across all aspects of your general responsibilities
• Attend all Fever home games and select road games as designated.
• Lead the training of Fever players in off-season including out of market player visits
• Assist in player evaluations as part of the WNBA draft
• Lead and record all pre-season performance testing as well as subsequent testing for comparison
• Create monthly reports on pertinent player information including but not limited to, attendance, body weight, and relevant objective measures
• Follow all WNBA standards and protocols
• Maintain WNBA standards for confidentiality regarding all matters pertaining to the players and the organization
• Assist in any other areas necessary and assigned
• Collaborate with Head AT/PT on intrinsic/extrinsic load monitoring
• Assist in carrying out maintenance/injury mitigation programming
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or alike. Employee must have the CSCS credential from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Experience in Professional Basketball as a Strength & Conditioning Coach is desired. A valid driver's license and annual or biannual CPR/AED training is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Employee should have knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and general data entry. Ability to learn new systems and adapt new technology. Experience with wearable technology is preferred.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions and technical diagrams. Ability to interpret directions.
