The Community Engagement Department serves and supports Pacers Sports & Entertainment, which includes the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Pacers Foundation, Pacers Gaming, Mad Ants and Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Community Engagement Manager will use their broad knowledge of our local and statewide community needs and opportunities to engage with community leaders, volunteers, youth and adults to create positive change through community action. This position will be hands-on and must have excellent communication, public speaking, planning and organizational skills. These skills will be critical to working with the department and company to engage with the public in these communities, and create, plan and manage diverse and inclusive community engagement programs/activations that support the Community Engagement brand strategy and the overall mission and vision of Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support and, at times lead, operations for the department throughout the year with the majority of focus being on programming, event planning (including fundraising events), and assisting with various projects that support the Community Engagement department and Pacers Foundation.
• Engage the Indianapolis community by crafting, planning, and leading current and new community programs and events.
• Responsible for the community merchandise and donations program at PSE, using strong organization skills to organize, store, track, assemble, and distribute merchandise and autographed items.
• Collaborate with Pacers Foundation to support philanthropic endeavors like Math Hoops, Fever FORE Change and Change Makers Dream Team.
• Work with the PSE Digital Team to develop and update content for Pacers and Fever Community Engagement web and social accounts.
• Facilitate, plan and lead all aspects of key community engagement events and programs including, but not limited to Pacers Pals & Friends Ticket Block Program, Jr. Hoops Tour, and Indiana Fever Anthem Assist.
• Assist in the management of Fever Player Relations, including player and team appearances and team autograph sessions.
• Ability to work effectively with various internal team members and departments, in addition to external partners as this position will be instrumental in building and maintaining positive relationships internally and with Corporate and Community partners.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes working evenings, weekends and potentially some holidays. Work requirements include Pacers and Fever home games throughout both seasons, in addition to other Gainbridge Fieldhouse events where the Community Engagement team is activating and as requested.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Sports Communications, Event Planning, or similar field preferred but not required.
• At least three years of experience in community engagement, non-profit work, event planning, or related field is required. Strong preference for experience in professional sports.
• Experience coaching or conducting youth basketball clinics is highly preferred.
• Experience volunteering with, working for, or supporting non-profit work is highly preferred.
• Experience coordinating special events is highly preferred.
• Impeccable organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Photoshop. Employee should also have substantial knowledge in all social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from director, manager, clients, sponsors, season ticket holders, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as basic mathematical concepts and analyzing costs & budgets.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions. Ability to multi-task, working on several programs and projects at once.
PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to make quick and independent decisions within the policies and procedures of the Community Engagement Department of Pacers Sports & Entertainment and must understand Pacers Sports & Entertainment corporate structure, policies, and procedures. Employee must exercise discretion and independent judgement in handling confidential issues involving players and coaches.

• The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
• The noise level in the Fieldhouse/game environment is usually loud.
• The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
In addition, this position is required to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends, as well as attend events on-site and at various locations throughout Indianapolis and the state of IN.
