The Streaming Program Manager will be responsible for the oversight, development, and execution of the Pac-12 Networks’ digital programming offerings, including its AVOD/FAST streaming service “Pac-12 Insider”, the collection of live events produced by the member institutions of the Pac-12 Conference, and other digital content opportunities. Additionally, the role will oversee and manage the scheduling database that powers the competition schedules of the Pac-12 Universities. This position reports to the Pac-12 Networks’ Senior Manager, Programming & Scheduling, and is based in San Francisco, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the AVOD/FAST streaming service “Pac-12 Insider”, including the scheduling and execution of programming within a cloud-based master control environment
• Collaborate with the Content, Distribution, and Product teams to strategically develop and implement digital content with current and potential distribution partners and platforms
• Communicate strategy, progress, and updates both internally across the organization as well as with third-party distribution partners
• Facilitate workflow of new digital asset creation from ideation, production, integration into the content management system, and delivery to owned and operator platforms and distribution partners
• Monitor and react to consumer engagement statistics across platforms
• Oversee the integration of school produced live streams onto various digital platforms, including the scheduling, promotion, and execution of the events
• Work with campus staff to help facilitate their livestream productions by sharing best practices, providing feedback, and helping identify technology solutions
• Manage the Pac-12’s master scheduling database which tracks all competition schedules for each sport and team across all twelve campuses and powers their official athletic websites
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
• 3-5 years of programming/digital content experience or another related area in sports media
• Demonstrable history of building strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders across varying disciplines
• Working knowledge of current streaming and VOD platforms and evolving consumer video habits
• Ability to work independently and problem solve with little direct oversight
• Experience working within a Content Management System a plus
• Familiarity with live stream productions of sports including general knowledge of required technology, production equipment, and workflow preferred
• Detailed oriented with the ability to multitask and maintain accuracy on high-profile information
• Ability to work some hours dictated by the sports schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Understanding of the Pac-12 Conference, the college sports landscape, and media entities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Some travel required
• Bachelor’s degree
