Full Time Job
The Controller will report to the SVP Finance and have responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day accounting functions. These functions include revenue cycle, payable cycle, general ledger, fixed assets, cash, payroll, and monthly financial and management reporting. Additionally, the functions of production accounting are also the responsibility of the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the month end accounting close and financial statement reporting and analysis.
• Record monthly journal entries & prepare/oversee reconciliations (including Cash, Prepaid, Fixed Assets, Accrued Liabilities, Equity and miscellaneous GL accounts).
• Analyze general ledger accounts, schedules and trends.
• Regularly prepare analysis on selected accounts.
• Maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Analyze current processes for improvements and automation opportunities, including streamlining the month-end close process.
• Assist in ad hoc projects.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Assist in annual operating budget preparation and monitoring.
• Perform other projects assigned on an as-needed basis.
• Cash flow management and reporting.
• Reconcile production general ledger.
• Prepare month end programming expense accrual, analysis and report.
• Oversee corporate and production accounting staff.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 5 years of experience
• Proficient with ERP systems as well as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Gmail.
• Direct management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task easily and change directions quickly
• Knowledge of GAAP required.
• CPA preferred.
