Pac-12 Networks is looking for a dynamic Campus Video Producer to handle the creation of video on location at our campuses (focusing specifically on UC Berkeley and Stanford University) and other events where resourcefulness, camera skills, and the ability to edit and package video in the field are at a premium. This position will be responsible for planning and executing field shoots on behalf of various Pac-12 Networks stakeholders and platforms, and leading others in doing the same. The ideal candidate should have a track record of event coverage with high production value and quick turnarounds.
Success in this role is creating lasting, positive relationships with university leadership, with the goal of increasing collaboration and alignment between the Networks and the member institutions this position serves. This position reports to our Senior Vice President, University Relations in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
• Source, advocate and prioritize coverage for stories specific to the Pac-12 member institutions to which they’re assigned
• Create video content on behalf of Pac-12 Networks and university stakeholders including short-form and long-form platforms, Features, Promotions, etc. – and lead others in doing the same.
• Strong shooting and editing skills a must, including experience with lighting and audio configurations.
• Competent in social video best practices including square and vertical formats.
• People skills are as important as technical skills for this role. A large percentage of the work is getting to know and earning the trust of university leadership and production staff.
• Visit university representatives such as SIDs, coaches, student-athletes, and administrators on campus on a regular basis
• Coordinate delivery of content in the field using mobile transmission, campus feed points, and file sharing services.
• Plan shoots in coordination with stakeholders, execute, debrief, and repeat.
• Use company-owned camera equipment, and create a process for identifying new hardware/software in service of the role.
• Work well with others and as a “one person band” sourcing, producing, editing, transmitting, and packaging video elements on a tight turnaround.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ experience shooting, editing and managing the production of video for short-form and long-form platforms on location at events.
• A track record of producing high-visibility video for large-scale audiences on a quick turnaround.
• Fluency in native video on core social media platforms – production, packaging, and industry trends.
• Ability to work efficiently and collegially with multiple stakeholders, accept feedback, and keep your cool.
• Fluency with the Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Shooting with DSLR, digital cinema, and mirrorless cameras.
• Color grading, After Effects, Sound Mixing.
• Preferred degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or commensurate work experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel as needed
