SQUEDULING AND ACQUISITION INTERN
• Are you good at scheduling, analyzing and communicating information? Do you have an interest in putting together the overall strategy for using the programming we have in the most strategic way possible on our schedule and evaluating programming produced by outside parties for potential acquisition? Are you a resourceful self-starter who can think outside the box to get the job done?
• If you answered “yes” to any of the above, a Scheduling and Acquisitions internship at OWN is for you! We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented people with excellent communications and computer skills to assist the Scheduling and Acquisitions department.
• In an internship with OWN you’ll be exposed to all areas of the business through a solid foundation of learning through training and work experience. OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the internship is to allow the student to fully understand what is involved in having a career in scheduling and acquisitions. Our intern will have regular daily duties, such as strategically tracking the competition and keeping our long-term planning document updated – which also involves ensuring that we are maximizing usage of our programming. He/she will also learn how to use the scheduling software, actually scheduling programs on the network. We will have him/her screen potential acquisitions and tell us their opinion, as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Using scheduling software to enter program information and schedule the network
• Strategically tracking competition
• Special projects
• Updating long-term planning documents
• Screening acquisitions
• Administrative duties such as copying documents / updating binders
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be legally Authorized to work in US
• Must have completed at least 2yrs undergraduate.
• Ability to do basic Internet searches for information is a MUST.
• Prefer a basic knowledge of email, Word, and especially Excel.
• Must be detail-oriented and not afraid of working with television ratings (i.e., numbers).
• This internship is for college credit only; must be able to provide proof that your university will allow credit to be applied.
