Job Description -This role reports directly to the COO of Original Productions and will be responsible for overseeing the production management aspects of Original Productions current and development production pipeline. The role is a member of Original Productions management team and a key player in strategic planning and the direction of the company. Additionally, this role will be overseeing the production, financial, accounting and deliverables processes for Original Productions to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shows, recording and reporting of actual and estimated show costs, correct payment to show vendors, staff, crew, and talent.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for approving budgets, schedules, locations, crew, staffing, pre-production, production
• Ensure that every show runs according to Original Productions/Fremantle's standards
• Continually monitor all projects in progress and report any schedule and budget challenges and provide solutions
• Proactively track delivery milestones and ensure on time payments from networks
• Solve budgetary issues while maintaining the creative integrity of the project
• Management of direct (accounting and deliverables) and indirect staff
• Manage the workflow of the production team responsible for pre-production; shoot schedules, budgets
• Production Finance: Interface with production finance to track costs on specific projects
• Development: Interface with development on a production by production basis to establish a symbiotic relationship from the earliest stages of the show concept
• Interacts closely with the Senior Management team of Original Productions, Business & Legal Affairs, Accountants, Fremantle Finance Team and Network Finance Team
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 8 years of experience in creative production at a production company or network focused on unscripted/reality TV series
• Bachelor's degree required. Prefer in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
• Prior experience as a TV Production Finance Executive preferred
• Entertainment Partners Vista Accounting, Movie Magic, and Entertainment Partners Budgeting Software experience required
• Broad experience with various TV genres including Broadcast Network and Cable Network unscripted 1 hr and 1/2 hour preferred
Desired Characteristics
• Ability to influence senior leadership, lead and manage direct and indirect staff - superior communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Experience with preparation of television series show budgets and estimates
• Demonstrated ability to deliver while working under time pressure on multiple assignments, and to adapt and work well in a rapidly changing environment
• Strong analytical ability
• Proficient with Excel and other MS Office Suite
