Part Time Event Manager
As an Event Manager, you are the face of One Chance Media-and, in many cases, an extension of our client's team. Clients trust us to deliver exceptional customer service, execute seamless onsite activations, and represent their brand professionally. The Event Manager is responsible for helping ensure every event runs smoothly from setup through teardown while creating a positive experience for attendees, clients, and event staff.

Requirements (Must Haves Qualifications):
Drivers License - Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving in New York City. You should not be intimidated by NYC traffic, tight streets, or challenging parking situations.
Heavy Lifting - Must regularly lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Travel - Willing and able to drive up to 6 hours or fly for events as needed.
Credit Card - Valid credit card required for rental cars and hotel accommodations.
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience with AV, photography, or event production including conferences and corporate meetings
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of responsibilities and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-oriented in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
Responsibilities:
Pre-Event
Confirm event availability promptly with the Account Manager.
Review all event details, schedules, travel arrangements, staffing requirements, and activation instructions provided by the Account Manager.
Complete any required training for the assigned event service or activation.
Ask questions and communicate any potential concerns or missing information before arriving onsite.
Arrive fully prepared and familiar with the event experience, equipment, and client expectations.
Event Setup
Communicate setup progress and any issues to One Chance Media's Event Support team.
Unpack and set up all equipment, materials, signage, and activation elements according to provided instructions.
Inspect equipment upon arrival and immediately report any missing, damaged, or malfunctioning items.
Complete and submit final setup photos and samples for client or internal approval when required.
Ensure the activation area is clean, organized, professional, and ready for attendees.
Train and manage any event assistants, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and the overall attendee experience.
Confirm that all aspects of the activation are functioning properly before the event begins.
During the Event
Serve as the primary onsite representative for One Chance Media.
Manage the overall attendee experience from start to finish.
Provide clear direction and support to event assistants and other onsite staff.
Maintain a professional, friendly, and energetic presence throughout the event.
Communicate with the client and One Chance Media's Event Support team regarding event progress, questions, or issues.
Troubleshoot problems quickly and escalate issues when additional support is needed.
Ensure equipment, inventory, and activation materials remain organized and secure throughout the event.
Capture high-quality action shots, finished product photos, and clean setup photos as requested.
Provide daily status updates for multi-day events.
Look for opportunities to improve the attendee experience and proactively address potential issues before they become problems.
Post-Event
Complete a thorough teardown and safely pack all equipment, materials, and supplies.
Confirm that all equipment and inventory are accounted for before leaving the venue.
Load out and transport equipment and rental vehicles as required.
Return or drop off equipment according to the instructions provided by the Account Manager.
Report any equipment damage, missing items, or notable issues from the event.
Within 24 hours of the event, submit a concise event summary along with relevant event and activation photos.
Communicate any important client or attendee feedback that could help improve future events.
What Success Looks Like:
A successful Event Manager is someone the client can trust to take ownership of the activation onsite. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly, adapting when plans change, and representing One Chance Media with confidence and professionalism.
Our goal is simple: the client should feel confident that everything is under control-even when unexpected challenges arise.
Salary/Benefits
Compensation:
Event Work Starting rate: $32/hour
Depending on the hours worked and overall event performance, an efficiency/performance bonus may be available for qualifying events.
Sign-On Bonus: After successfully completing 5 events, Event Managers become eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus.
Training & Office Work: $32/hour
Training sessions and approved office-related work are compensated at the training/office rate.
Reimbursements
Approved event-related expenses generally include:
Uber or other approved transportation to and from airports
Transportation within the event city when needed
Rental vehicles
Gas
Parking fees
Other necessary miscellaneous event expenses approved by One Chance Media
Receipt Policy: Photos or copies of receipts must be retained and submitted in order to receive reimbursement.
Payment Schedule
Payment is issued every two weeks according to One Chance Media's normal payment cycle.
This is a W2 position.
