TV Show Host & Writer (Bilingual)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Olympusat is looking for a bilingual TV Show Host/Writer focused on creating compelling stories on Aliens, UFO's, and Paranormal Activities to join our team. This position will perform the daily hosting and writing duties of a television show, as well as personal appearances, on-air and on-line representation of Olympusat in the community, commercials, and promotions. The show's primary purpose is to explore the unknown. This person will be the face and voice of the show and must have passion and great knowledge on the subject matter.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work together with a team of producers to create, gather, write, and execute all production elements related to programs, web reporting, live to tape segments, and Olympusat sponsored events.
• Work with the acquisitions department and content providers to acquire content as it relates to the show.
• Prepare and host a television show, along with other programming and special projects as needed.
• Report live on location as necessary and travel to destination relevant to the show if required.
• Present information conversationally via script, perform impromptu conversation as necessary, and connect with audience on camera.
• Engage with audience and fans through multi-media platforms (i.e. blogs, writing internet articles, YouTube, etc.)
• Act cooperatively with assigned photographer/producer on segments.
• Flexible hours and travel are required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be bilingual (Spanish/English.)
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2-3 years' professional broadcasting experience required.
• Knowledge and passion for the show's content is a must.
• Ability to write feature packages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure.
• Ability to develop creative solutions to problems and come up with clever ideas about a given topic or situation.
• Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, and libel laws.
