Do you love event planning? Do you have experience with team leadership in a rapidly changing environment? Bring your attention to detail and ability to lead by example to our team in the dynamic world of sports entertainment. As the Event Presentation Coordinator, you will help plan and execute over 50 Thunder events each year. Your talents in communication and time management will help us put on the show at Thunder home games and well as crafting top-tier season ticket member and VIP events, company meetings, Thunder watch parties, grassroots marketing events, fan festivals and various fan-focused events around the city and the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise a large part-time events crew, including participation in the hiring process and event/game scheduling
• Act as event lead for oversight of concourse entertainment, interactive elements, theme night activations and giveaway distribution at all Thunder home games
• Help to schedule and execute event planning meetings
• Implement staff curricula, training programs and attire guidelines
• Assist with Thunder Alley pre-game outdoor festival logistics, including all permitting, event layout, load-in, set-up, execution of programming and load-out
• Communicate all aspects of event logistics with internal departments as well as vendors and arena or venue staff
• Organize and track all event and game-night equipment and supplies, ensuring the return of event collateral to storage as necessary
• Work closely with entertainment manager/coordinator to produce scripting and run of show for various events
• Coordinate the details of regional activations including logistics of equipment, transportation, catering, dressing rooms or other needs as required
• Serve as a brand ambassador for the organization during interactions with vendors, sponsors and other constituent groups throughout the community
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
• A minimum of one year of experience in the field of live event entertainment (sports, theater, concerts, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Experience supervising and motivating others in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication as well as excellent listening skills
• Ability to turn creative direction into positive results in an environment with frequent changes
• Display flexibility and positivity to others in the face of change and last-minute initiatives
• Experience successfully navigating change without being rattled
• Think clearly and make decisions in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
• Display strengths in organization and time management with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of and interest in basketball and the NBA
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Physical requirements of the job include the ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse in-arena stairs, work in environments that include loud music and flashing lights, and work events that may be outdoors in heat or cold
• Punctual and able to maintain a work schedule that includes office hours as well as evenings, weekends and holidays
• Primary work location will be the Chesapeake Energy Arena located in downtown Oklahoma City with some additional local and regional travel required
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, Event Presentation.
