Baseball Operations Intern (Dominican Republic)

We are currently seeking individuals truly passionate about baseball, for a Baseball Operations Internship position in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Interns will work closely with both the Oakland Athletics Front Office and Latin America Operations department on a variety of activities across Player Development and Scouting. This paid internship will run for the 2018 season and will include housing and meals.
Responsibilities:
• Act as liaison between Oakland Athletics Front Office and Latin America Player Development and Scouting Staff
• Implement new technology initiatives as guided by Front Office and Director of Latin America Operations
• Chart each home game using Trackman software and correctly identify pitch types
• Communicate with Trackman support and the Oakland Athletics front office about technical issues that may come up
• Manage collection of Bat Sensor Data
• Setup cameras to film bullpens, batting practice, early work, and help players and staff with any video/technology related requests
• Import, edit and upload video to A's proprietary Scouting/ Player Development platform
• Assist coaching staff, players and front office with video and technology requests
• Perform other ad hoc assignments as requested
Qualifications
/Requirements:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (both oral and written) required
• Must be organized and have strong attention to detail
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve IT or other technical issues
• Prior experience with Trackman or other computerized scoring software is preferred, but not required
• Experience playing baseball or previous work experience in a baseball environment
