Jr. Accountant

Jr. Accountant (6 month contract)

The Oakland Athletics are looking for a Jr. Accountant to support our AP/AR as well as other Finance projects. . The right person will provide direct support to the accounting team to ensure all transactions are properly entered. This is a perfect role for a new college graduate looking to gain experience in the industry.

This position will report to the Accounting Manager.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions including invoicing and check issuance
• Supporting financial operations of the Community Fund
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
• Post monthly recurring journal entries
• Reconcile Company Visa Cards
• Complete monthly sales and use tax reports and submit payment
• Assist in the preparation of reports and respond to inquiries and requests from senior management on financial performance
• Ad hoc projects as assigned by Senior Director and V.P. of Finance.

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree, Accounting Emphasis preferred
• 1-2 years of Accounting experience
• Experience in accounting software - Great Plains and Quickbooks preferred
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• High motivated, with strong work ethic
• Effective time management skills
