Part Time Unpaid Internship
Job Title: Stadium Operations ADA Services Intern
Department: Stadium Operations
Reports to: Stadium Services Manager & Guest Services Manager
Duration: 6 - 8 months (March through October)
Hours per Week: approximately 25 - 40
Job Responsibilities
(including but not limited to the following):
• Supervise ADA services (Americans with Disabilities Act) program for the Oakland A's
• Oversee A's Team which provides services to guests whom are elderly, disabled, pregnant, etc.)
• Coordinate ADA services (A's Team) staffing and scheduling
• Assist with game-day operations including wheelchair assistance, shuttle cart services, quiet room operations, etc.
• Assist with recruitment and training of A's Team staff members
• Research ADA services provided at other MLB ballparks and event venues
• Expand ADA services provided at Oakland A's home games (sensory suite, autistic programs, allergy programs, etc.)
• Assist with initial development of full-time ADA coordinator positions
• Participate in department job shadowing program
• General clerical office duties and administrative work (filing, data entry, game day preparation, etc.)
• Explore ways to improve customer service and the stadium experience
• Develop knowledge of the Oakland Athletics ticket and stadium policies
• Other duties as assigned
Qualification/Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in college or university or have graduated within the past twelve (12) months
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal skills
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and efficiently handle multiple projects at once
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hrs per day
• Non-traditional hours are required for this role. Game day duties and off-site events require nights, weekends, and holidays availability.
