Description:
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Social Media Intern. This part-time, seasonal position reports directly to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
• Connect with fans who post to Instagram within ballpark perimeter using Hyp3r platform
• Work with the Social Media Coordinator to ensure consistent brand voice
• Assist Social Media Coordinator in gameday duties and office projects
• Serve as main conduit for engaging fans and influencers on Instagram during the game
• Integrate emerging market trends, best practices, insights, and recommendations into fan interactions
• Monitor social media feeds for customer service questions
• Seek answers to guest stadium experience or ticket sales questions
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in college or have graduated in the last year
• Studying/studied Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
• Experience, knowledge, and passion for social media and related technology
• Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task with great attention to detail in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
• Ability to think strategically, in holistic detail, and have creative aptitude
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Adobe Suite & graphic design skills preferred
• Photography experience preferred, though not required
• Knowledge of sports industry preferred, though not required
• Candidate must be available to work various nights, weekends, and holidays to support key advertising and social media initiatives at games and other related events
