Event Marketing Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director of Special Events
Description:
The Oakland Athletics is currently seeking a Full-Time Event Marketing Manager. This position will report to the Director of Special Events and is responsible for strategic event marketing programs for the Oakland Athletics. Candidates must demonstrate ability to successfully execute marketing plans with measurable results and have a strong understanding of event management. The Event Marketing Manager is accountable for developing high touch point event programs, lead generation, curating data, executing event plans, and building brand loyalty for the Oakland Athletics.
Responsibilities:
• Innovate and oversee event marketing initiatives that grow fan base and drive brand affinity
• Research, recommend, and maintain database of events within various markets
• Develop new and creative event concepts/strategies to support wider marketing initiatives and company objectives
• Proactively seek and grow relationships with local businesses, organizations, clients, partners, sponsors, and/or vendors
• Collaborate with marketing and social media team to develop content and collateral for promotion and events
• Collaborate and work in cross-functional teams to successfully implement event marketing programs
• Develop working knowledge of sales products, data system, marketing campaigns, brand guidelines, and sales cycle
• Refine lead collection process to move prospects through sales cycle and provide consistent reporting or recaps
• Consistently monitor and report on the progress of event marketing programs
• Strategize, plan, manage, and execute event including, but not limited to, venue selection, negotiating contracts, budget management, pre and post on-site coordination, etc.
• Cultivate team environment
• Lead and supervise event staff to execute event activation
• Build ''swag'' or giveaway inventory to raise brand awareness, increase participation or touch point, and incentivize leads
• Maintain knowledge of local markets, sales product, industry trends, and event marketing strategies
• Flexibility to travel to and from events when required
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements:
• 3 years of experience in marketing, event management, and/or sports
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of baseball, sports culture, events and/or marketing preferred
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient with office productivity applications (ie: Salesforce, Tableau, G Suite, Adobe, Microsoft Office)
• Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects at once
• Results-orientated and data-driven
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams
• Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environment
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, nights, and/or after business hours
• Must have a clean DMV
