Job Summary
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a rising social media professional who will help develop, execute and analyze social media initiatives, with a focus on gameday content and community events. This person will also support the Social Media Coordinators with ad-hoc projects, including but not limited to weekly performance reports and publishing sponsored content.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the social media team with the development and execution of engaging content for TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (Feed, Reels and Stories), and LinkedIn.
• Assist with content capturing for social platforms on game days and at off-site promotional, community and sponsor events.
• Monitor the daily social conversations of fans, influencers, other brands, and teams to identify trends and best practices.
• Work in partnership with the Social Media Coordinators to collaborate with internal stakeholders (including marketing, sponsorship, sales, and community) to manage project expectations and deliverables for events and campaigns.
• Write entertaining, accurate copy and interact with our fans in an authentic voice.
• Assist with monitoring player social media accounts to provide recommendations to encourage player brand development.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Knowledge and understanding of the game of baseball.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience creating and posting social media content on various platforms.
• Experience creating photo, video, and/or graphic design content.
• Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).
• Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
• Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
