Part Time Paid Internship
Product managers at NPR build products that deepen engagement with our journalism, connecting our audience to our brand. As part of the NPR Digital Media product management team, you’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team in building NPR’s national website, improving digital listening experiences, increasing engagement on podcasts and newsletters, and more. This paid internship will give you an opportunity to learn quickly and build products that reach millions of people weekly.
Responsibilities
• Brainstorm new and innovative product ideas that enhance user satisfaction
• Participate on an Agile scrum team and collaborate with product, design, engineering, editorial, and other stakeholders across the business.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion across all disciplines.
• Perform supporting product tasks as necessary. We’re a small, busy team, and we all pitch in.
What We Are Looking For
• Curiosity and passion for NPR’s mission – An interest in learning product management best practices and working for a mission driven organization.
• Excellent customer experience intuition – interest in creating innovative, user-friendly digital products.
• Basic analytical and quantitative skills – Curiosity to learn and practice data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication skills – ability to write and speak clearly and effectively to earn buy-in for innovative and bold product vision.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship.
• Education or experience in a related field - business, technology or journalism
• Solid communication skills
• Understanding technology, design, and business- and working at their intersection
• Some experience building digital products
