OVERVIEW
Are you infinitely curious? Do you enjoy wrestling with messy questions at the center of the conversation? Do you love playing with sound and experimenting with the boundaries of this medium?
If so, we’d love to meet you.
After six seasons and over 100 million downloads, NPR’s Invisibilia is undergoing a massive change with two new hosts and a fresh perspective. We’re looking for someone excited to bring the show into a new era - someone who loves the show and wants to join us in building a new voice, sound, vision, and culture.
You will join this team as a reporter/producer - someone who reports and produces your own stories for the show, and also produces other people’s work and episodes at large. Ideally, you are passionate about reporting ambitious, complicated stories, and telling and producing them in new, interesting ways. Ideally, you also take extreme pleasure in helping make other people’s work sing.
We’re a small team that works closely together and pitches in wherever is needed, whether that means solving story puzzles with creative solutions, maintaining team organization and tape maintenance, or managing our social media channels. We also work in independent bursts. So we’re looking for someone who is highly creative, collaborative, generative, generous, and flexible - and also capable of executing stories and projects on their own.
From story finding and reporting to sound design and audience engagement, our ideal reporter/producer will be ready to support the show’s transformation, and help shape how the show moves into the future.
Across our organization, we’re building a workplace where collaboration is essential, diverse voices are heard, and inclusion is the key to our success.
