OVERVIEW
Across our organization, we’re building a workplace where collaboration is essential, diverse voices are heard, and inclusion is the key to our success.
We are seeking someone good at creating order out of the chaos of daily news, deadlines and shifting priorities to help people create journalism together in new ways.
NPR has launched an ambitious project to better coordinate with stations and reporters around the country. We’ve created content verticals, shared services, and regionally based “hubs” of stations in order to improve how public media covers our country. The stations in these hubs plan coverage together, share resources and innovate ways to reach new audiences on a variety of platforms. They’re also forging new ways to plan and share content with NPR.
The Collaborative Journalism Editorial Project Manager will work in partnership with NPR’s newsroom and two of our hubs – in California and the Midwest -- to support these local-regional-reporting collaborations. We’re looking for someone with an appreciation of the public media space, superb process and organizational abilities, diplomatic skills, and the energy to help people work differently together. You should be creative, collaborative, and comfortable working with a range of personalities and work styles.
