Assistant Producer, Funding Credits (Temporary)
Funding credits are an integral part of the funding model that makes NPR’s news and programs possible. Editing and delivering these spots for deployment on broadcast and digital properties requires dedication to mission, sharp production skills, and attention to detail.
We’re looking for an assistant producer who knows how to create audio content and is comfortable managing a complex workflow while prioritizing a variety of deadlines. In addition to taking pride in your work, you’ll make the complicated look easy and bring an innovative spirit to the team.
This is a temporary assignment for 6 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works with sponsorship and programming teams to edit, time, and produce sponsorship credits.
• Prepare broadcast scripts for recording
• Distribute funding credits via NPR’s distribution platform and FTP file transfer if needed,
• Coordinate studio bookings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned. Position is based in Washington, D.C.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Experience with audio production tools and in creating content from start to finish.
• Collaborative spirit and willingness to work with colleagues across departments to manage a complex and shifting workflow.
• Proven ability to work well with others, demonstrating respect for the diverse constituencies at NPR and within the public radio system at all times.
• Sound judgement.
