Novo Novus is an independent media production company specializing in developing and producing projects geared toward the LGBT community of color. Novo Novus is currently the home of Novo Film Project and Novo New Media. Projects include the hit comedy web series DRAMA QUEENZ (now in its third season), the acclaimed docu-series FADE IN, and the award-winning short film BOYS LIKE YOU.

Novo Film Project is currently seeking a Gaffer/Key Grip for its upcoming SAG Ultra-Low indie feature film LANGSTON'S. The film is set in present day and encompasses four stories (with four different feels and looks) all set in an urban gay nightclub.

Designer responsibilities include: Utilizing the ''club'' lights already in the space to achieve optimal effect; coordinating the lighting grid with the DP; helping the DP realize his overall vision for lighting; coordinating the lighting package; hiring lighting team interns; coordinating lighting set-ups during production; as well as ordering the grip package and coordinating overall general grip responsibilities.

Principal shooting is scheduled for July 17, 2012 and wraps July 30, 2012.

Desired Skills:
-Ownership of lighting kit a plus.
-Excellent visual awareness and design skills.
-Ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines.
-Previous lighting/electrics/rigging experience a plus.
-Knowledge of NY indie film scene/resources/personnel a plus.
-Awareness of special NYC mandated shooting guidelines/regulations
-Desire to work with an ambitious, upstart production company preferred.

COMPENSATION: $1,000 stipend
