The Junior Systems Engineer will be responsible for administration and maintenance of production systems. The ideal candidate will perform both OS and application administration for multiple Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows systems. Applications support includes Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Flame and Smoke, Resolve, and ProTools. Hardware support includes monitors and peripherals. Understanding and experience with cloud storage and infrastructure a plus.
Essential Responsibilities:
Front line support for OS and software installation and configuration
Front line support for OS and software maintenance and upgrades
Troubleshoot issues for signal routing and video / audio equipment
Provide tech support for network, printers, computers, and cloud services
Act as Liaison with vendor support
Conduct routine systems maintenance and testing
Microsoft AD administration including user and groups management
Maintain logs and records as required
MDM system knowledge a plus
Qualifications:
Job Experience
Technical and operational knowledge of broadcast video equipment such as tape machines, routers, and signal converters
Must have experience with Mac based computers, networking, SAN, and data management
Experience with supporting Media Composer, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Flame, Smoke.
Scripting and programming skills (bash, ruby, python)
Candidate must have demonstrated experience with a proactive/preventative approach to systems maintenance.
Education:
Bachelor's or College degree in a relevant field OR comparable on the job experience in technical operations or network administration.
Skills:
Mac, Linux and Windows administration
NAS (SMB/NFS) and SAN technology
Clear understanding of core Internet and networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, FTP, ARP, HTTP, HTTP/S, IPv6, and SSH) IP communication, packet structure and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible Hours (nights and weekend work will be required on occasions)
