About Nomadica Films
In an era of disposable programs, Nomadica has burnished a reputation in the industry for intimate storytelling, cinematic visuals and for evolving well-worn content genres that break the traditional paradigm. Since its inception in 2016, Nomadica has produced acclaimed and award-winning global series and documentary specials for partners such as Netflix, Disney, Discovery and National Geographic.
Cutting its teeth as an in-demand show running pod for some of the most ambitious series in unscripted TV (including Discovery's The Last Alaskans and Nat Geo's Inside Combat Rescue), Nomadica launched its banner by teaming with Vox Media's popular platform The Dodo and producing Dodo Heroes, Animal Planet's first ever globally launched series. The series drew 40 million viewers worldwide while earning a Critics Choice nomination. Nomadica spun off three series from Dodo Heroes: Izzy's Koala World, the first ever live-action kids series for Netflix; Disney's Roman to the Rescue; and The Wizard of Paws, currently in its seventh season for BYUtv.
Nomadica's recent Netflix limited series Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn's Treasure chronicles the controversial 10-year treasure hunt engineered by mercurial art dealer Forrest Fenn that drew more than 300,000 searchers to the Rockies in pursuit of a hidden chest of gold. Gold & Greed became a Top 5 title for Netflix across all scripted and unscripted programming in May of this year. In 2023, Nomadica won the Tribeca Film Festival's Best Documentary Feature award for Between the Rains, a coming-of-age story set in climate-ravaged Kenya.
