The National Organization of Italian Americans in Film & Television (NOIAFT) is seeking an intern to work directly with NOIAFT's founder.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Opportunity to assist with press coverage for films, TV shows, and upcoming festivals and events, including the Rome Film Festival, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and upcoming NOIAFT screenings
Assist with organizing newsletters, social media and website posts
Vet and recruit members and help connect current members with new opportunities
Assist with conducting celebrity interviews (e.g. research, coming up with questions, scheduling, transcribing, and editing.) An excellent candidate may have the opportunity to conduct select interviews with talent
Develop and maintain relationships with publicists, studios, talent, and various organizations.
Help put together letters to send to various companies to tell them about NOIAFT (e.g. invite them to follow us on social media, become a sponsor, find ways to collaborate, etc)
If interested, additional opportunity to assist with short films in pre and post-production
Qualifications and Requirements:
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and extremely dedicated individual who wants to be a highly-valued member of our team. Your input will be taken very seriously. This is an excellent way to build skills and your network.
You will be exposed to a lot of highly sensitive information and will be able to network and participate in meaningful opportunities. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and confidentiality. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle varied personalities and sensitive situations.
Knowledge of Italian and Italian American culture/film/tv/entertainment preferred, but not required. Interest and willingness to learn a must. Knowledge of social media required. Knowledge of WordPress a plus. Video editing and podcast experience a plus.
Our articles and work are circulated widely and are seen by high-profile individuals. Work requires excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
This internship will start by the end of October/early November and run through February 2022, with the opportunity to stay on longer. We are willing to work with you to create a schedule that meets your needs and the time commitment is no more than 10 hours per week. This is a part-time, unpaid remote internship, but prefer someone based in NYC. Willing to endorse college credit requirements.
