Title: Sr. Director, Nickelodeon Digital Production
General Description:
The Sr. Director of Production, Nickelodeon Digital, supports digital originating content for Nickelodeon and ATV. They manage daily physical production as well as annual production budgets. This role reports to the VP Production, Nickelodeon Digital Studios.
Responsibilities:
• Directly manage brand lead Line Producers for Nick and Awesomeness TV
• Learn and execute company protocols on Covid Compliance, Safety, Legal, Security, Finance, Labor Relations, Deliverables, etc, and vet all production plans for compliance
• Work with Central teams on assigning production management, editors and producers on all projects to maximize and share internal resources
• Partner closely with development and creative producer leads at project inception to understand creative direction and begin planning for production resources
• Establish realistic timelines and deadlines with creative partners and maintain accountability
• Keep internal execs informed on project status and raise awareness to challenges in real time
• Oversee annual budgets for digital content and work with line producer to develop and approve line by line budgets
• Have strong knowledge of all genres of content production including unscripted, reality, social, animation and scripted
• Have strong knowledge of production and post production workflows
• Maintain collaborative partnerships with internal support departments: Post Production, tech ops, BALA, risk management, finance, etc.
• Vet financial and legal feasibility of creative executions
• Help identify and source 3rd party production partners, freelancers, and crew to support our productions
• Manage production management teams from pre-production to actualization
• Work with group Operations lead on systems and practices as needed
• Assist department head with corporate-facing special projects (analytics, org charts, job descriptions, hiring, administrative, etc.)
• Maintain procedures for tracking daily employee project workload and assignments
• Manage process for employee out of office requests (PTO and non-PTO)
• Serve as sounding board and help senior team to resolve interpersonal or interdepartmental challenges
• Foster sense of community and maintain positive morale department wide
Qualifications:
• 12 years of experience with hands-on production -network/broadcast, production company, and streaming strongly desired
• Experience managing teams critical
• Strong knowledge of prominent digital platforms and emerging technology
• Willingness to travel and be available for some weekend shoots/events
• Proficiency with Movie Magic Budgeting, Showbiz, and Excel
• College degree strongly preferred
