Full Time Job
The Specialty Retail Development Director is a key member of the Viacom & Nickelodeon Consumer Products Retail team and is responsible for working with retailers to secure everyday inline placement and create customized retail programs based on our IP. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working with VP to establish a strategy, building and maintaining retail relationships, identifying white space, negotiating direct to retail licensing deals, and working collaboratively with internal teams, licensees and external partners to market and promote retail programs while enriching the consumer experience.
Responsibilities
• In accordance with the overall strategy, build and maintain relationships with key retailers.
• Educate retailers about NVCP priority properties and act as liaison for all resource needs
• See retail programs through from pitch stage to recap
• Prepare sales presentations, pitch customized retail and marketing programs to retailers, work with Lines of Business, licensees and key internal stakeholders to execute and market program, compile recap of program with performance and key metrics
• Negotiate Direct To Retail licensing deals with strategic retail partners
• Identify white space and establish relationships with retailers in order to grow VNCP presence throughout the Specialty retail channel
• Work with internal teams (Marketing, Creative Franchise, Legal, Finance, Press, Media etc.) to be sure retail programs are trend right, align with key corporate initiatives and, maximize impact and elevate the overall brand equity
• Work with Fashion Collaborations team to secure specialty retail distribution for collaborations programs
• Keep team apprised of trends in retail, marketing, social media, fashion and culture
• Immerse the team in the lives of the Specialty consumer to understand their needs and wants
• Stay current on competitive programs in the marketplace
• Oversee workload of shared Manager who also reports to Senior Director, Specialty Retail Development and Director, Fashion Collaborations
Basic Qualifications
• 10 years’ experience in retail, consumer products, fashion, creative agency, marketing, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree

• Strong experience with PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Photoshop/Illustrator, if possible

• Strong verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner
