Previs Production Supervisor (TMNT)
Summary:
• Works with Production Manager and/or Associate Producer to meet scheduling and budget requirements for the Previsualization (Previs) Department. Updates the department's schedule regularly to work with the ever changing needs of the production. Understands and reports on how changes may impact the budget, schedule, and potential overtime for their department.
• Participates in studio initiatives such as the development and deployment of new technologies.
• Looks ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones & inventory expectations are met.
• Strategizes with the Head of Previs, upper management, and other Production Supervisors to create resolutions.
• Productivity and/or inventory issues.
• Manages in house Previs work as well as the flow of information back and forth with Animation Service studios.
• Facilitates communication as appropriate in a timely manner.
• Solicit opinion and support an open and safe feedback environment.
Responsibilities:
• Develops and manages internal department schedules and staffing requirements.
• Collaborates with Head of Previs to ensure the complexity of work is consistent with department budget and schedule.
• Strategizes on how to resolve any complexity overages.
• Provide management support, measure trends against plan, highlight concerns, acknowledge accomplishments, provide risk assessment, and recommend solution options when necessary.
• Track approved Sequences and ensure appropriate delivery of these designs to other departments.
• Partner with Head of Previs, Associate Producer, and Production Manager to manage bidding process initiatives and offer options to ensure complexity is managed within schedule and budget parameters.
• Promote cross-studio collaboration and communication.
• Creates and maintains reports that clearly illustrate department and individual artist productivity.
• Collaborates with Dept Head to cast assignments and issue deadlines to artists.
• Regularly checks in with the crew and freelance artists.
• Has a basic knowledge of the tools being used by artists in the department (Maya, Z-Brush).
• Attends Director Approvals and helps to communicate agenda, drive this meeting, and establish next steps.
• Primary production person within department, supervises and mentors Prod Coords and PA's for that dept.
• May be involved in the interviewing, hiring process, and deal negotiations.
Qualifications
• 3 years experience as a Production Coordinator within Feature Animation production or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Shotgrid.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present complex issues in a clear manner.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work proactively and independently and manage several projects with competing priorities.
• Outstanding leadership and teambuilding experience.
