Weather Reporter

This is a Full Time Job

Forecast weather conditions and produces and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

Reports compelling stories using live shots, stand ups, and use of digital and social media platforms.
• Produces weather and news content for reports for all platforms
• Writes and delivers weather and news stories in a clear and concise manner
• Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather and news programming and other content
• Responds to breaking news and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsrooms situations as required

Works closely with the news and weather teams
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances
• Writes web stories detailing the local forecast and news reports daily
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
• Shifts include weekends and nights
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
