Nexstar Broadcasting's station, KRON4, the San Francisco Bay Area's Local News Station is looking for a Temporary Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate must be a problem solver. Will work under the direction of the Chief Engineer to provide preventive maintenance and emergency repairs of television broadcast equipment including but not limited to switchers, cameras, robotic pedestals, ENG equipment, servers, transmitters, as well as computers, network, and telecom equipment used in KRON's newsroom, engineering, studio, microwave and transmitter sites.
This is a temporary, part time, union (IBEW) position.
Requirements:
• Aggressively respond to emergency calls, including those outside of normal business hours
• Install, repair and maintain broadcast and other equipment
• A proven skill set with PC's, servers, and operating systems is preferred
• Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have a valid California driver's license
• Ability to take direction and work well with others in a team environment
• Troubleshoot digital and broadcast electronic equipment
EXPERIENCE:
• 3 plus years' experience in a broadcast, cable or other television related production facility preferred
• Candidate must have experience in broadcast, electrical, and mechanical engineering with proven ability to install, repair, and maintain all television broadcast and non-technical equipment.
