The New York Yankees are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team. This position will report to the Director, Payroll and will be based at George M Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL. As an integral part of the Accounting/Finance team, this role is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Primary Responsibilities
• Calculate and process Minor League Baseball player payroll
• Manage electronic timekeeping systems or manually collect and review timesheets
• Ability to handle confidential material and communicate with various levels of management
• Timely and accurate processing of payrolls, transmitting payroll to ADP Workforce Now
• Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions
• Prepare and issue W-2s
• Issue paychecks and manage direct deposits
• Maintain employee records
• Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data
• Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters
• Provide administrative assistance to the accounting and finance department
• Assist in the administration of retirement plans
• Support annual financial statement audit of payroll and 401k
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting required
• 2-5 years of experience working in a payroll department
• Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
• Prior experience with ABI Mastermind preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Able to prioritize and multitask effectively
