Senior Financial Analyst

Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst is a new position in the Financial Planning & Analysis department reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis. This position will be responsible for financial analysis and reporting for Sterling Mets, LP and its subsidiaries, and will provide support to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and internal business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and analysis for senior management.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget, quarterly forecasts, and business plan.
• Prepare monthly analyses of business trends, variances to budget / forecast, and key performance indicators to be used in management review meetings.
• Liaise with line of business manager and directors to ensure division will achieve certain benchmarks through P&L and margin analysis.
• Develop and maintain models and analyses to aid in the validation of existing forecast and for special projects.
• Assist in the maintenance and communication of finance and accounting policies to business units.
• Proactively identify possible scenarios, risks and opportunities to the budget and business plan.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and reporting of internal audit plans and related findings.
• Various special projects and analyses as requested.
• Research on a variety of business, operation, and league business, finance and accounting issues.

Qualifications:
• Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, financial modeling, data management, and costing / profitability methodologies and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, MBA a plus.
• 2 or more years of relevant finance experience.
• Experience in the sports or media industry is preferred, but not required.
• Basis knowledge and understanding of general accounting policies and principles.
• Excellent MS Office skills required.
• Familiarity with financial planning and reporting software, such as Adaptive Insights, Essbase, Hyperion Planning, or Cognos.
• Ability to demonstrate strategic forward-thinking and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possess a solid work ethic with desire to exceed expectations and grow.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
