POSITION SUMMARY:
New York Film Academy's - NY Campus is seeking a passionate, empathetic and driven Associate Human Resource Director to join the HR team.
You are:
An expert HR professional who can handle any issue that comes your way.
A thoughtful leader and the point of contact for strategic consultation around employee culture/experience.
A change catalyst who has successfully worked and built cultures around belonging and inclusivity.
As an Associate Director of Human Resources you will:
Oversee day-to-day HR activities for the New York Campus.
Partner with academic and non-academic leaders to develop and lead an effective People strategy for designated teams.
Provide strategic partnership to supervisors: provide coaching, focus on performance management, leadership development, and conflict management.
Identify and deploy impactful people strategies and policies that enable the organization to perform effectively and scale efficiently as it grows.
Partner with the Director of HR and members of the HR team on communications, projects and best practices.
Provide expertise in development and execution, planning, and facilitation of employee relations efforts.
Culture + DEI.
Ensure NYFA's values are understood, lived, and shared by all team members.
Own and innovate on our team rituals and events (monthly staff meetings, Halloween, holiday party etc.)
Maintain strong culture, connection, and communication across our distributed team.
Build and maintain inclusive internal policies to reflect our team.
Ensure we are always keeping DEI top of the mind and embedding best practices in our day-to-day.
Move NYFA's DEI journey forward.
Enable employees to actively participate in ERGs.
Grow and develop the organization's muscle as a leader in the DEI space.
Recruiting: Manage full lifecycle recruitment for the New York and South Beach Campus.
Employee Relations: Investigate, recommend action and resolve employee concerns and issues. Facilitate effective communication with supervisors and employees on company policies and initiatives. Effectively plan and manage employee leaves of absence, short-term disability, leave of absence and accommodation requests, and performance evaluations.
Payroll and Benefits: Train employees on timekeeping processes and benefits enrollment. Partner with payroll to accurately plan, process and forecast. Help employees understand and enroll in various benefits.
Safety and Training: Oversee worker's compensation cases, maintain OSHA standards, train and guide employees as needed.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to HR matters.
Oversee HR team at NYC Campus.
Serve on the committees as needed.
You will bring:
Minimum 7 years of professional HR experience with strong emphasis on employee relations, benefits, HRIS, and payroll.
Experience leading internal DEI initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar discipline is a must.
PHR/SHRM - CP certified preferred.
Experience in Higher Education or Entertainment industry preferred.
Experience working with Paycom preferred.
Knowledge of NY Labor Laws.
Extensive employee relations experience.
Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
Knowledge of overall HR functions.
Quick Learner, detail oriented, thorough and accurate.
Great planning and organizing skills, ability to multitask.
Follows instructions, responds to management direction and maintains a high level of confidentiality.
Self-starter with a creative mind and a track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results.
Experience working with FileMaker Pro, Google Suites, Mac OS.
