The Role
The Visual Communications Manager will lead the creative content strategy of the APAC original title productions partnering across multiple lines of marketing channels and departments to best bring to life the publicity, marketing and product creative needs of a campaign. They will be a member of a small, seasoned group of professionals based in the company's Seoul office, working across our Korean original series/film slate.
The role requires a high level of creativity, an inquisitive, innovative personality, strong project management & an editorial background attuned to great visual storytelling. This role works across photo and video content, utilizing knowledge of TV/film productions, talent/filmmaker relations, and publicity/marketing strategy to shape, enhance and support marketing and publicity campaigns across the APAC markets.
Having a strong creative storyteller's instinct that can pivot through the unpredictability of production is key to success in Visual Communications.
Responsibilities
of the role include:
• Develop creative strategies in collaboration with all parts of marketing, Publicity, Editorial, Partner Marketing, and Product to align needs and efforts to create a consistent and clear content strategy
• Oversee a slate of projects that includes several original series, films, documentaries, docu-series and comedy specials at varying stages of production and execution
• Be responsible for the creative deliverables from production and talent time and drive communication with campaign stakeholders across publicity, marketing/social teams, product team, showrunners/filmmakers and talent reps
• Leverage your editorial & creative expertise to partner with cross-functional marketing teams to solve business opportunities through authentic stories via compelling creative assets (a/v and photo)
• Concept and pitch creative ideas to peers, senior management, producers, and talent
• Hire and oversee unit photographers and video crews, including script and schedule review and communication with production
• Oversee photography and video needs for premieres, events and photoshoots
Skills
and Requirements:
• 8 years of experience either as an in-house content creator or at an entertainment and lifestyle media house or outlet
• A sound understanding and experience working with production teams, film/tv studios and networks, and/or talent in order to manage creative content strategy with marketing, publicity, and/or product stakeholders
• Strong creative eye with a keen understanding of visual storytelling in the service of audience-first communications strategies
• Understand and have contacts in the photography and video industries in Korea and knowledgeable of digital file specs & size formats
• Understand and interest in copyright laws, usage licenses and embargoes
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Suite including Photoshop and Pro is preferred
• Business level fluency in Korean and English is required

Languages
Ability to speak and write fluently for business in both English and Korean is required.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for Visual Communications Manager, Korean Originals - APAC will have at least 8 years of entertainment experience at a network, studio, distribution, production company or journalism setting. College degree is required.
