Sr. Finance Operations Business Partner - Brazil
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a finance professional to assist business owners based in our Brazil office with end to end finance operations. This is an incredible opportunity to embed yourself with various business owners, including Marketing, Publicity and Facilities. The perfect fit for this role is someone that can drive operational process improvements, have the courage to challenge prevailing assumptions and develop strong cross functional relationships with business partners across the Marketing, Publicity, Facilities, FP&A, Accounting, Accounts Payable, and IT teams.
This position interacts with cross-functional business partners as follows:
• Business owners - Embedded resource that understands the nature of the business being supported and owns finance related tasks (end to end P2P support for vendor add requests, reviewing contracts, creating POs, reviewing invoices, vendor management, expense reporting, budget tracking/pacing, etc.)
• Accounts Payable - Create POs where applicable and provide non-PO invoice coding to enable timely and accurate invoice processing
• Accounting - Help facilitate a timely and accurate month-end close by owning the accrual process and explaining variance drivers
• FP&A - Ensure accurate coding of expenses to provide meaningful reporting, help track actuals to budget and communicate any expected variances
• IT - Partner on system enhancements to help automate workflows to scale
Responsibilities
include:
• Communicating and embedding yourself with business owners to obtain an understanding of all services being procured from our vendors and understanding the status/timeline of services provided
• Programming and owning cross functional meetings
• Managing vendor relationships: ensuring timely billing, approving invoices, and working with Accounting to ensure accuracy of accrued services
• Obtaining, reviewing and summarizing vendor agreements
• PO management to ensure appropriate accounting and classification of expenses for financial reporting and analysis
• Working with Accounts Payable to resolve billing issues and ensure vendors are setup to be paid timely and accurately
• Budget Management: working side by side with FP&A to help facilitate and build budgets while understanding, communicating and explaining variances
• Occasional trips to the US offices in Los Angeles and Los Gatos
Qualifications:
• 6 years of relevant experience
• Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA a plus
• Relationship builder - Ability to proactively cultivate strong business partner relationships and communicate effectively with team members; adept at owning and leading cross functional meetings
• Proactive and adaptable - Capable of being a self-starter in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
• Curiosity and passion - Our team members ask probing questions, challenge the status quo, make changes to improve processes, and have fun while doing it; having a positive attitude and never settling for ''good enough'' are key
• Innovation - Enthusiasm for improving and enhancing systems and workflows (learn the existing process and then build/challenge it to better scale for growth while providing meaningful reporting to our business partners)
• Organization - Highly accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Systems Savvy - Advanced Google Sheets and/or Excel experience with the ability to navigate large data sets; comfortable with ERP systems and leveraging systems to drive efficiencies
• Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish
