Netflix's Talent Relations & Awards team is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional to join the Documentary Awards team working on Oscar and Emmy campaigns for our documentary features, series and shorts. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for hands-on experience in running a documentary awards campaign from soup to nuts.
The Role
Netflix is seeking a Specialist, Awards - Docs Film & Series. This New York based role will focus on Oscar, Emmy and guild awards campaigns for our documentary features, series and shorts. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including filmmakers, consultants, press and Netflix cross-functional teams and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong film and/or series background and genuine interest and curiosity about the documentary genre. They will help strategize and execute campaigns, develop publicity angles and help identify ways to target documentary voters through events, outreach and third party marketing. This candidate has exceptional communication skills and is able to concept and implement highly effective ideas in a competitive landscape. They are adept at working with cross functional teams, including publicity, marketing, content, and product teams to move narratives forward, and pivot as needed. They have an understanding and interest in the awards landscape and the ability to strategically develop narratives that serve campaign goals.
The candidate should be able to identify ways to heighten contenders' profiles, strategize around needle-moving campaign opportunities and execute on niche market tactics. Strong candidates can handle multiple campaigns simultaneously, be an avid consumer of trade and industry news, and have a passion for film. They like to be challenged and are excited and comfortable working on issue-oriented films, and to innovate creative partnerships with external cultural organizations and non-profit organizations that benefit our campaigns.
Qualifications
• 7+ yrs experience working on feature film and series campaigns, including documentaries. Emmys and Oscar campaign experience is a plus.
• Strong media relations expertise across U.S. consumer and awards press.
• Exemplary communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in talent and partner relations and ability to effectively communicate strategy and ideas to filmmakers and talent reps.
• The ability to manage external partners like consultants, keeping them focused on our campaigns and playing to their strengths to get the best results.
• Comfortable taking initiative and working autonomously to move campaigns and ideas forward.
• Experience working with teams around the world, ideally working in deep partnership on campaigns and narratives for multiple markets around the world.
• Strong ability to prioritize a heavy workload and pivot as needed.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $60,000 - $234,000.
