In November 2022, Netflix launched an ad-supported tier across 12 global markets, with the ability to deliver standard :15 and :30 ads. Over the past year, the company has broadened the suite of advertising solutions offered, and is now set to scale new capabilities that focus on live content and integrations into/around Netflix programming/IP.
The Ads Commercialization function will be tasked with ensuring that advertising programs integrated with content [Live/Sponsorship] or which extend across multiple Netflix environments [Events, Marketing, Licensing] are underpinned with commercial models that scale and optimize ad revenue, client performance, and overall value for Netflix.
The team will have global responsibility, and be a connection point between the Ad Sales organization and cross-functional teams [such as marketing, content, legal, policy, finance, etc.]. Broadly, the team will:
Evaluate revenue potential of ad opportunities as they are identified by Integrated Marketing [IM], Sales or others
Craft consistent and competitive ad models tied to Live, Sponsorships and Custom programs that scale
Optimize overall Live, Sponsorship and Custom ad revenue opportunities for Netflix
In this role, you will:
• Work closely with Integrated Marketing and Content teams to identify, evaluate and develop high-value advertising programs connected Netflix programming
• Partner with FS&A Strategy and Pricing & Planning teams to forecast, price and package programs
• Consult with legal, business affairs and content teams to craft market, regional and global commercial sponsorship and integration models
• Track and evaluate competitive offerings to ensure best-in-class Netflix offerings
• Collaborate with Ads Research and Consumer Insights to develop measurement and insights capabilities that support monetization models
• Support IM in development and roll-out of go-to-market sales materials and training
• Support Sales in client engagement and execution
• Develop [in conjunction with Biz Ops] revenue and program tracking to ensure annual objectives are met/exceeded
About you:
• 10 years sales/monetization experience specific to live events, integrated marketing, and/or sponsorship programming.
• Global experience across key markets [UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Canada, Korea, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Brazil] a plus.
• Proven ability to collaborate upstream with content and creative teams in concepting and ideation phases of ad programs.
• Self-starter with expertise in managing large-scale, complex projects with a cross-functional team
• Ability to operate at both a leadership and executional level as the Advertising capability grows [this is a ''roll-up your sleeves''/entrepreneurial opportunity to build and develop a new capability within a larger organization]
• Understanding of how clients and agencies value and negotiate Integrated Marketing opportunities to inform Marketing and Sales initiatives
• Demonstrated track record of challenging the status quo and successfully implementing innovative approaches that drive revenue.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $280,00 - $600,000.
