The Role
Alongside the Product Manager, the Platform Operations Specialist is the expert on all the details of the functioning of Netflix systems, and is the key channel between the product and the support teams. As a Platform Operations Specialist, you will ensure that as changes occur to the systems Netflix uses, the right teams have the right information to give to users.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for technical and operational problem solving, deep knowledge of the Post Production industry and demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity. As tooling changes, this role will learn and adapt with the platforms, making sure users have a high level of understanding as to what is changing, why it is important and how it will be used in their workflow.
At its core, this role will make sure features are well tested, well documented, and the go-to-market training and support teams are well trained.
Responsibilities
User Acceptance Testing:
• Create and execute detailed test plans on new tool functions, sourcing realistic test media and setting up realistic test scenarios via JIRA
• Create concise, reproducible JIRA tickets when issues are discovered
• Proactively perform regression testing
• Investigate and groom issue trends that come in from Tier 1 support
• Identify opportunities for more efficient testing via metrics tracking and reporting
• Provide clear, actionable and reproducible feedback to Product Manager for tooling based on their knowledge and data
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams on improvement initiatives to streamline testing processes.
• Create test plans and write a suite of automated tests within Karbon test framework
Documentation:
• Create internal and external user guides for publishing on help platforms
• Create runbook material for Tier 1 Support teams
• Maintain documentation and runbooks as features and tools change
• Identify and execute projects to optimize documentation in collaboration with internal partners
• Identify opportunities for more efficient documentation via metrics tracking and reporting
Training for go-to-market teams:
• Be a user advocate and create engaging, thoughtful and informative training materials
• Collaborate with Internal partners to create automated eLearning platform material leveraging cutting edge technology
• Collect feedback from users and internal partners about how to improve training materials or methods to achieve the best results
• Collaborate with Training and Support teams to track and report metrics on training/training material effectiveness, drive improvements based on this data and push our training to be the best in the industry
Support and Escalation:
• Deeply understand the Netflix Post Production delivery, encoding, deployment and review supply chain, understanding the complete journey from initial delivery to a member's eyes
• Be an escalation point for Asset Management Operations and other Studio team members
• Provide helpful, collaborative support as a direct resource to our Product Partners
• Build and leverage strong relationships with the global Netflix Studio Production teams and Studio Product Teams

Qualifications
• 7 years experience in a media product testing, management or related role
• Experience in Post Production workflows: dailies, Editorial, VFX, Digital Intermediate, Media Distribution and archival
• Working knowledge of thel Post Production industry.
• Experience in a technical/workflow support for Media Production Software/Platforms
• Experience writing Technical Help Documentation/Articles
• Knowledge of object oriented coding languages and software engineering
• Knowledge of digital audio and video file formats, preferably experience with IMF, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Vision workflows.
• Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Data-driven mindset and know how to analyze and utilize data.
• Thrive in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
• Prior experience coaching, mentoring, and teaching people how to utilize industry specific tools and software.
