The Role
The Master Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for managing the QC process for Asia-based Original Content. The ideal candidate will have a deep level of technical Audio/Video experience as well as hands-on experience enforcing quality standards, building vendor relationships, providing training and evaluating vendor metrics. This person will be the QC contact for the region representing Netflix to our production and QC vendors; assessing the current QC practices; continuing to evolve best practices to achieve Netflix quality standards; and spearheading operational projects to scale QC workflow.
Responsibilities:
• Forge strong relationships with internal distribution and post teams to ensure alignment on quality standards and expectations
• Manage large-scale projects to improve overall QC workflow
• Effectively communicate project updates cross-functionally
• Partner with production and distribution to advise on content fixes and improve workflow from QC perspective
• Build and maintain relationships with QC vendors
• Train QC vendors to ensure the highest content quality
• Provide innovative thinking around scalable solutions and QC workflows
• Analyze vendor delivery metrics to identify trends, diagnose issues and reinforce quality standards
• Make sound independent decisions, and know when to escalate issues
• Advocate, understand and communicate the company's values
Qualifications:
• 3 years experience in post-production, video engineering, and/or quality control
• Strong technical background, including knowledge of 4K, HDR, color spaces, post-production workflows, video codecs, file manufacturing processes and standard industry tools for file preparation
• Prior experience in managing QC or production workflows of audio, subtitle and closed caption assets in the media industry
• Previous experience in managing operational vendors
• Attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, analytical and multitasking skills
• Comfortable with a fast pace and constant changeConfident decision maker
• Fluency in English and Japanese
• Fluency in additional Asia-based languages preferred
