Manager, Social Marketing - Italy (FTC - maternity cover)
It's an exciting time to join Netflix as we continue shaping the future of global entertainment. The Netflix ITALY Social Marketing team brings the joy of watching Netflix into the social feed, entertaining fans on their platform of choice so that they can discover new titles to watch, talk about the shows they love, express their fandom for talents and much more, all of that while building a strong brand on a daily basis.
Day to day, that means we set the strategy and work with other teams to curate the content for Netflix-branded social channels. We are a team of storytellers, strategists, marketing experts, and huge fans of entertainment and pop culture.
We are looking for somebody to join the Netflix Italy social team for a fixed term of one year to cover a parental leave within the team.
The role:
We are on the lookout for a unique individual who possesses a strong understanding of social media and entertainment sectors. The ideal candidate would be both creative and strategic, equipped with a distinctive voice and impeccable taste. As a Social Marketing Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining our social channels on a day-to-day basis, serving as the liaison for our agency and third-party vendor, providing constant feedback.
Your role includes contributing to the strategy development and ideation of content across our social media platforms. Teaming up with other social and marketing managers, you will breathe life into social campaigns and exclusive materials surrounding our titles, talents and brand. Your expertise will be instrumental in sparking social conversations and fostering brand loyalty.
Success in this role hinges on your ability to weave compelling narratives and make excellent judgements that balance audience interests with our business needs. You will be the guardian of our brand values and our unique tone of voice.
Your passion for TV, film, and entertainment should be evident, as well as your understanding of the Italian entertainment and social media landscape. Familiarity with global trends relevant to our industry is also expected. We value effective communicators who are not afraid to engage in thoughtful conversations.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage our owned social platforms on a daily basis through timely communications with external partners (social agency and production companies). Oversee our content calendars, give creative notes and often give final approval.
• Make sure the Social strategy for the Italian Market is applied consistently on the channels.
• Partner up with other social managers and marketing managers to ideate, plan and execute social campaigns and exclusive contents around our titles, talents and brand.
• Analyse the performance of social content and provide recommendations.
• Have a pulse on our audience to understand sentiment around specific titles and topics.
• Be a thoughtful and selfless cross-functional partner with internal stakeholders: Film and Series Marketing Team, Content Team and PR Team.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in social marketing, digital marketing, agency experience, editorial or consumer goods brands - preferably entertainment, sports and gaming.
• Has experience in social media publishing and community management. You need to have good knowledge of the specificity of each social media channel (eg; features, content formats, insights, data etc.) across the biggest social platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
• Is interested in online trends with a keen eye on what drives pop-culture and good intuition about what gets shared and talked about.
• Has a good understanding of social metrics and KPIs and analytical tools.
• Has solid experience in influencer marketing and working with creators.
• Is business-minded with a high sense of responsibility.
• Is proficient in English and able to present in both Italian and English, effective when communicating and not afraid to engage in conversations.
• Is able to work in a fast-paced environment and navigate complexity. Respects, understands, and appreciates the Netflix culture.
