We are seeking an experienced Production Executive to manage Netflix's feature films produced in the UK. This is a permanent full-time position which will report to the Director, Production Management, UK and European Studio Films.
This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and initiative. A successful candidate will be a seasoned film production expert who is quick-thinking, able to pivot when necessary. They will need to be thorough and able to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate well with a large number of experienced and seasoned stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Reviewing scripts and working with Executive Producers and Unit Production Managers to prepare and vet film budgets and schedules, providing feedback on viability and risks
• Support the Director of the team in developing long term strategy for the department
• Lead or assist with search and hire of key production staff
• Work with different Netflix department teams like Creative, Finance, Legal, Post Production & external production crews on establishing key production schedules and workflows
• To be present on set when necessary
• Determine key vendors to accommodate creative vision and relationships, tax incentives, budget needs, location issues and curate key relationships for future productions
• Work with the Executive Producer and Unit Production Manager to manage and approve all costs, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring we meet deadlines and stay within budget
• To provide timely advice and support to the Executive Producer and Unit Production Manager and to intervene on an exceptional basis only where there are major issues that require more senior resolution
• To continually seek to provide increased value to the audience through challenging the status quo, reviewing production processes and shaping and implementing improved ways of working
• To ensure the Executive Producer and Unit Production Manager discharges their occupational risk responsibilities
• To regularly monitor and review safety implementation and compliance and to ensure that risk assessments and safety documentation are properly assessed and completed for all productions.
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate all changes to schedules to internal department teams
Qualifications:
• At least 15 Years of production management experience, ideally as a Unit Production Manager or Production Manager.
• Extensive experience managing feature film budgets in excess of $70m is required in this role.
• Experience as a freelancer and on a studio level or In-house for a production company is preferred
• Understanding of budgeting, scheduling and cost reports and proficient in Movie Magic software (MMB & MMS)

• Be experienced at communicating well with confidence and context at at high level with Netflix Executives, project specific Producers and Senior Production Leadership
• Forge relationships of trust with project specific Producers and Senior Production Leadership
• Have the ability to handle a fast-paced environment simultaneously supervising several projects in various points of production
• Have excellent organisation, planning and analytical skills and the ability to prioritize the workload whilst retaining the confidence of the Director, Production Management, UK and European Studio Films
• Have the ability to present information reliably and succinctly
• Have a good understanding of major unions, guilds contractual terms and deal structures in the UK film industry
• Be familiar with the current trends and workflows in the industry
• Be forward-thinking and strive to embrace new ideas and change
• Be comfortable responding after-hours for important, timely or urgent matters
• Occasional domestic and international travel (when possible)
• Demonstrable the ability to handle conflict in the workplace and resolve problems as they arise.
