Seeking a smart, creative and resourceful technologist who will help lead the strategic direction for studio technology and support provided by the Netflix's Tech Ops team. This position will be based out of our Los Angeles office and will report into the Global Manager for Tech Ops Asset Deployment Services. You will be an integral captain for the Tech Ops team that supports our productions and their technology needs, managing the back-end help on all our technology offerings, systems and devices.
Your Core Responsibilities
As a lead for the Tech Ops Asset Deployment Services team, the Lead IT Technician will own a multitude of IT operational tasks such as imaging PC and Mac laptops, kitting client compute and storage solutions for post production workloads, managing production hardware inventory, remote hardware support, software requests, equipment procuring, managing vendor relationships, negotiating rental agreements, dispatching IT equipment requests, troubleshooting, etc. You will ensure requests are resolved with great customer satisfaction and provide the very best solutions for Tech Ops customer base.
Your core responsibilities will include:
• Key liaison accountable for shepherding collaboration between multiple technology partners to continuously innovate on end-user hardware and software standards that enhance productivity
• Installation and configuration of creative software tools leveraged by production partners (e.g. VFX and Post Production) to streamline workflows in the production of content
• Collaboration with other technology partners on troubleshooting and bug fixing of end-user hardware and software issues
• Documentation of technical knowledge for both administrator and end-user audiences to help standardize the management of technology while enabling successful adoption at the end-user level
• Management of production hardware and software inventory procured by Tech Ops worldwide
• Driving and optimizing provisioning workflows to ensure a streamlined process for all hardware and software requests
Your Skills & Experience
• A minimum of 5 years of Technology Support or Systems Administration experience within a studio production or post production environment
• Applied knowledge with administration and configuration of end-user technology and infrastructure used for production or post production workloads
• Strong fundamental knowledge in networking protocols and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with distributed computing environment concepts; local and network based user and group accounts and permissions
• Knowledge of IT best practices around data and endpoint security
• Strong experience in identifying, assessing and securing technology vendors while managing and negotiating rates, SOWs and contracts
• Experience supporting Cloud and SaaS Applications and SSO, including Google Apps for the Enterprise (Gmail, Calendaring, Drive, Sites and Google Groups)
• In-depth knowledge of and the ability to perform remote troubleshooting on Mac OS, Chrome OS, Windows, Linux, and various applications including Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Mobile device support including iOS and Android devices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Driving and optimizing provisioning workflows to ensure a streamlined process for all hardware and software requests
