Netflix is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to join its APAC Tax Team, reporting to the APAC Director based in Singapore. This is a newly created role given Netflix expansion in the region and the ideal candidate, at first an individual contributor, will be building the indirect tax advisory team in APAC. The Indirect Tax Manager will provide indirect tax planning and analytical support. The ideal candidate will have an accounting background, excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support in partnering with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, treasury, etc.) and external advisors on indirect tax planning projects and indirect tax questions
• Support and analyze the indirect tax aspects of our APAC expansion, including new markets entry and cross-border transactions
• Research complex indirect tax issues, prepare technical documentation and assist on the indirect tax aspects of special projects
• Assist in reviewing contracts to ensure key indirect tax deal terms are consistent with our global tax structure and our global tax position
• Work with the APAC Senior Manager and the APAC Public Policy team on various indirect tax policy matters in APAC
• Monitor proposed changes to indirect tax law and regulations in the APAC region
• Support the indirect tax aspects of audits in the APAC region
• Assist and collaborate with the Compliance Team to review any indirect tax compliance filing, as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Accounting
• Relevant indirect tax experience in a public accounting and/or a corporate environment
• Solid understanding of indirect tax concepts
• Experience with APAC indirect tax advisory and audits
• Self-starter with ability to juggle multiple projects and produce high quality work product in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact cross-functionally and with external advisors
