Creative Director
The Creative Director will imagine, develop, implement, and drive understanding of the project's design. You will collaborate with studio management, publishing partners, and project leads while ensuring that project requirements are met, and a great player experience is kept at the forefront. You will act as both a manager and a mentor, fostering a team culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and empowerment. You will strive to develop processes and solutions that help to support a sustainable work life for your team.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Craft the game's design vision and rally the development team and external partners around the vision
• Collaborate with project leads and directors to balance priorities and set clear objectives for development
• Provide leadership and guidance to design team members to help them reach their optimum performance levels
• Manage performance within the team in a way that encourages innovation and creativity, while establishing and codifying best practice and process
• Work with all disciplines to ensure that game features and systems meet specifications and Boss Fight's high-quality bar
• Continuously drive understanding, alignment, and excitement for design features within the team and with external partners
• Continuously provide feedback to all stakeholders and team members in a constructive manner, with suggestions and solutions for improvement to process and project
• Serve as a player advocate on the team, drawing from experience, research, playtest data and feedback to forge an outstanding player experience
• Be accountable for the project quality targets as well as the results achieved
• Manage shared library of resources including game design and process documentation
• Own the design of the next generation of major features for Boss Fight products
• Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions
• Lead by example, creating a strong sense of purpose and community, promoting a culture of excellence and inclusivity, encouraging a sustainable work/life balance
Skills
and Abilities:
• Demonstrated fundamentals of leadership, including clear and proactive communication, exceptional mentoring and supervisory skills, and meeting moderation
• Able to manage multiple, competing tasks and be self-directed to meet responsibilities in a quickly evolving environment with little to no direction
• Ability to coordinate and effectively drive the roadmap for the Design team
• Ability to coach, manage, mitigate, and prioritize through stressful situations for you and your team
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong desire to iterate and improve processes
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting and presenting to all levels of the company, especially key stakeholders, and publishers
• Ability to review and create game design documentation including core game systems, game mechanics, interface design, and narrative content
Education and Experience
• 3 years directing projects and teams at the creative leadership level
• 10 years' experience in game design or other related creative part of game development
• Experience working on games with Product Management/Analytics to design systems and features that respond to real-world user data and player behaviors
• At least one full design cycle, from inception through live ops, on a high profile F2P title in the role of either Design Director or Creative Director or equivalent

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $150,000.00 - 500,000.00
