Netflix seeks an experienced production attorney to handle a wide array of responsibilities related to the owned, original series slate produced by our Scripted, Co-License, Originals team (SCOTV).
The successful candidate will work as part of SCOTV's Business & Legal Affairs team to structure, negotiate, and draft agreements in connection with a growing slate of owned, original series distributed to Netflix around the world. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing and exciting Netflix initiative. The role will require working with external producers and creative partners, as well as a variety of internal creative, business/legal, production, and marketing teams involved with series production and distribution. The role requires creative thinking and good judgment, comfort with a fast-paced environment, excellent interpersonal skills, strong negotiation skills, and the flexibility and ability to independently make decisions that have both legal and business impact.
The successful candidate will also be excited and inspired by the Netflix culture.
This position is based in Los Angeles.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have 5 years of experience in the development and production of original series content, with direct experience drafting all forms of agreements related to television development and production, including experience with the legal and business aspects of production, talent negotiations, below-the-line considerations, and diligence. Experience providing in-house support in a major studio, television network, production company and/or entertainment company is highly preferred.
The successful candidate will also possess the following:

• Strong analytical capabilities and superior judgment, even when the rules are unclear and the issues are of first impression.
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to counsel internal business clients on business and legal impact in various areas including content operations and security, marketing, business development, and product.
• Ability to pivot quickly and fluidly, think practically and be solution-oriented.
• Curiosity and willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
• J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required.
